Mayor Bloomberg, Happy Birthday! I learned this morning that today is not just St. Valentine's day, but also our honorable mayor's birthday as well!
It so happens that two nights ago I came into possession of a photo-snowglobe with Bloomberg printed on it (no joke). My friends generously bought me a ticket for the opening of Patrick Stewart's performance of MacBeth at BAM in Brooklyn. With the ticket came a gift bag and since Bloomberg (the corporation) sponsored the show, in the bag were photo-snowglobes with "Bloomberg" indelibly printed on the base. (What exactly are you supposed to do with a corporation-branded photo-snowglobe?) Anyway, my friends and I agreed we were going to turn ours into shrines to the mayor. And mine is going out on his birthday. Have a great one, Mike! (Enjoy the continual snowfalls -- in captivity.)
