Molix' Punitor, studio shot in a tank with water drop

Molix' Punitor, studio shot in a tank with water drop

I have two photos done this way and they are among my favourite ever. This is probably as far as I managed to get to the "artistic" side of a product photo so far. Please don't get me wrong I don't want you to think I'm so arrognat to believe I'm producing any kind of art, but as far as my small brain and limited photography skills concern, this is among the finest I could do. Funny enough it didn't take long to get the "right" water drop, I used a small dispenser of a medicine and worked pretty well. The framing doesn't include 100% od the lure because with every drop it was slightly moving on the right and when I got the good water drop a part of it was outside the frame and I was too tired to start all over again :-)

Supernato Lure by Molix. Tank shot with mirror reflection, black background

Maybe I'm wrong but I like this shot, is quite simple and the only "special" thing is the mirror image on the surface of the water but for me it works fine

hPa Minigrip, small grip for fishing rockfishing style

hPa Minigrip, small grip for fishing rockfishing style

This thing is really tiny, around 9cm long it only weights 17gr and has been designed for a new kind of fishing called Rockfishing dedicated to extra light tackle fishing for small saltwater fish. A very simple set-uop for this one, a white cardboard, one light and one reflector, I love the result though, you can perfectly see the texture of the handle and every single detail.

Sèbile Stick Shadd studio shot painted with led light. First attempt, MUST be improved!

Sèbile Stick Shadd studio shot painted with led light. First attempt, MUST be improved!

First of all let me say that I don't like the lure position in this image, too flat on the background, I forgot to put the Patafix behind to give it an angle. Anyway, as you have seen from my previous images I just received a brand new led flashlight and wanted to test it. I must admit that I have been surprised by the power of the Led Lensed I have bought, even at half power if you insist too much on a spot it can burn an image, even at f32 the aperture I had to use to be able to work with at least 4 seconds shutter speed. For this image I used a 10" shutter speed, and carefully painted the product trying to achieve this king of dark/clear blotches without burning everything up.
Let me say that this is quite difficult, or at least it has been for a hamster brained guy like me. The direction of the light must constantly change in order to avoid those dark shadows that remind of bare speedlights gone bezerk, the amount of light must be spread very carefully and last but not least, next time I will need to work with a neutral density filter in front of the lens because at f32 images suck!
Take it for what it is, a first test, and if you have any suggestion for my next one (no, I cannot change my rat sized brain ;.) ) you're the most welcome to write it in the comments

Led lamp, studio shot with one light and ripped box carboard as background

Led lamp, studio shot with one light and ripped box carboard as background

Frankly I like this one better compared with the one with the white background. I had to do a bit of underexposing with the paint brush in Lightroom to make the background looks more spoiled.
