i could make up a whole story about the name of this little "lobsta shack”, but truth be told i have not got a clue why it is called that! Curious as i am, there was no one around to even ask, save for the very strange man that took a shine o me in the coffee shop and then followed me down the block talking to me as tho i was from Rockport, and asking me if i knew people and places in the little cove! i told him a few times that i was not from Massachusetts...but that did not seem to penetrate! by the time i came upon this little shack, the sun was up and he was gone....it was a little unnerving being there at 6am with only the lobster fishermen doddering about getting ready to go out to set traps.....but i really wanted to see the sunrise....and do a little solitary exploring.
So Gussie’s Girls will be a story for you to invent....have at it! i could use some mindless entertainment after the day i had!
PS. A bit later on, i saw the strange man again...but, he was in a boat with a bag and heading off across the cove....i think to a larger boat to set his own traps. Even if he had noticed me, i probably would not have asked about the shack....he was not someone i wanted to encourage....did not even make eye contact the entire time he spoke with me earlier! i did manage to get a shot of him heading out in the early light of the day....will pull that from the archives another day!
