The frozen Bog.....
Where I spend a few hours on winter weekends pursuing the great gray and northern hawk owls.....This is there favorite habitat....Vast areas of tamarack/black spruce trees.....This particular bog covers about 250 square miles and is known as "The Sax-Zim bog"......

The Pine Grosbeak.....
More of a winter inhabitant of our Minnesota north country......Very seldom see them in summer.....Such great coloration on these birds....
