I'm a Loser!

I spent the whole day in Galveston which was pretty fun. It was totally unexpected. I barely got any sleep, so I was tired most of the day. I was kind of mad because I saw so many opportunities for photos, but my mom told me not to take my camera. =(

Since we got home late and I didn't have much time, this is my photo. I'm feeling really sleepy, and I don't want to go to Houston tommorow. Ugh...

Interesting emotional expression through the visual medium. That your face is covered and significantly off-camera seems to add to the frustration of your palm message. Looks a little like a laptop vidcam capture..., which makes it feel more myspace...

the composition makes this shot interesting for me. the cropped face and hand make it more than a normal portrait. I also absolutely love the wispy moustache. it really adds something extra to the overall theme of the photo. you have also done a great job getting everything in such crisp focus.

wow............the emotion seriuosly is so imposing..........like the way one eye is hidden behind the hair and the dull expression of the other............plus the details in the skin has come out really well.................probably the only distracting thing are the white patches in the background.............a simple white bg wud have been better i feel

You did a great job by hiding your right eye, while the other is almost in the center of the photo. It draws the attention on it, and then on the hand and its message. The feather on the edges is also a good idea : like a card you'd use to express an idea. But as zedaxis22 also noticed, I'm quite annoyed by the patches in the background. At first glance, I thought your mirror was dirty... Very nice idea and realisation anyway. Keep self-portraiting. I took a look at your galery, which is really interesting.

Very interesting portrait. I like how you combine different aspects of communication in your shot. Your face, hand and writing all convey a feeling of "Stay a way world". The message is enhanced by your eye that is placed under the hand and the message of stay away is enhanced further. Very creative and effective use of crop, signs and composition.

Lounge!: thanks for the comment! the white patches in the background are little white seashells from the wallpaper in my bathroom. haha i actually didn't even use a mirror for this shot though.
