Babes in Toyland Disneykins Disney Vintage Toy Soldier by Marx, 1961

This group of toy soldiers are among the eight toy soldiers released by Marx in 1961, following the launch of the film Babes in Toyland. These molded plastic figures are hand painted.

This is the larger of the two sizes of soldiers released; they're 3 inches tall (7.7 cm).

this brought to mind a little song my gramma used to sing to me:

      My momma told me
      that she would buy me
      a rubber dolly
      but when I told her
      I kissed a soldier
      she would not buy me
      a rubber dolly :D

I got them in a bag with a bunch of other figures--cowboys, soldiers, etc. These were the cream of the lot.

Hi, I'm making a short film on vintage kids toys and would love to have this in the film. It's just a personal project so I can't pay you for it but I will mention you in the credits. If I end up using it, i'll inform you when it's completed so you can view it. Please let me know if you'll allow me to download this photo for video use.

      Thanks!
