World's End roadWorld's End is a conservation and recreation area set on a peninsula that juts out into Hingham Bay and faces Boston Harbor. It is made up of a series of glacial drumlins, so the roadways go up and down. The roadways and tree plantings were put in place by Frederick Law Olmstead, who had been hired to lay out a residential development. This never happened, but the roads and trees remain. The tops of the hills offer wonderful views in all directions. Uploaded on Jul 14, 2009 ice house 2009See the next picture in my stream for the original version. In this picture, I deleted the blown-out sky and placed the icehouse layer over an image of clouds. In addition, I I used the high-pass filter to emphasize detail and then further emphasized it by posterizing the edges. I erased the posterized edges from the sky. Uploaded on Jul 13, 2009 |
