Muffet's photostream  

A headstone in Stow, Massachusetts, tells a haunting story of a family tragedy. The headstone reads:

Here lies buried the Remains of the Bodys of James, John & Edward Brown Sons of Mr. Edward Brown & Mrs. Mary his wife who was Burn’d in his House March 29, 1770. James was aged 10 years, 4 months, and 15 days. John was aged 8 years 6 months and 3 days. Edward was aged 6 years 9 months and 4 days.

Was inspired by Peter Hurley photography video to crop this way...his feeling was that it's better to emphasize the eyes and place them according to the rule of thirds and lose the top of the head. I'm still thinking about it....

Another Iron Photographer project. The challenge is to combine something orange, with something that has a handle. A vignette is the third element. I like the looks of this, although it does suggest something grim.

I did not take this picture. It is by ftbester. But I loved this woman's smile and wanted to work with the image. The texture and tones are my own.
