Cute Garden Pups

Cute Garden Pups by Paulena-KE5DDZ.
I only discovered them in my yard Tuesday morning... Later in the day, I saw two of them together in my flowerbed! Wow! Over the winter, I sprouted Prairie dogs, Cool! They seem to be living in one of my rasied flowerbeds, which backs up against my back fence... which backs up to a bike path and an arroyo. I took some lettuce out to them. They loved that.
I know there are two, maybe three. As long as there's not 50 of them, we'll be Ok.

I'm thinking that when the city started developing a park 3 doors down from my house late last summer, these guys must have lived there and been pushed out. Since I have the first yard to the south, without a dog in my yard... mine was the prime spot. I hope they don't mind when I tidy up the yard and garden this weekend! haha

They are so cute! Nice to know you're a kind soul who cares for them and isn't aiming to shoo them away through some sort of "pest control." This story makes me smile! :)

Thank you for the kind comments!! Yes, they are welcome and relatively safe in my yard. Although I cannot vouch for the occasional neighbor-cats, but I'm guessing these little guys are faster!!

As soon as I learned they had sprouted in my garden, I googled them in an attempt to learn more about what they like. They really like lettuce!

I was appauled to find that people actually go out to shoot them!! I suppose if I had a crop that was overrun with them... but still. Around here, we have Prarie Dog towns all over the place and when big construction projects come in, we have an organization that comes in and rounds them up for a move to a new location.
