Mardi Gras mask
Parades, King Cakes and Balls are a major part of the Mardi Gras tradition. The parades usually consist of "Krewes" - the extravagant floats usually throwing trinkets (i.e. beads, doubloons, plastic cups) to parade goers who are shouting, "Throw me something, Mister!" Brass bands are always included in the parades marching in front of these floats playing second line music known as Mardi Gras music for the shouting parade-goers.
