week 30 of the 52

Look back without regret, forward without fear and around you with wonder - AWCarey

What is time?

It occurred to me this week that our pasts are solid – we have no power to change them; they are as if set in stone. And our futures are fully fluid, coursing with possibility like clouds drifting overhead in a blue sky. And our present is ours to make what we will with it. It is exactly that – a present. Look around you with wonder at this gift. It is yours. Cherish it.

However if you are more scientific and less poetic/dramatic you are likely thinking, "Rubbish, the past, present and future exist as one in a smooth flowing, directionless continuum. Your entire existence happens in the blink of an eye to the alien traveling at the speed of light.". ;)

How small we are….or…how grand! It’s all a matter of perception and attitude.

Whatever time is, make the most of it.

Nice work, Athena! Is the gradient across you from warm at camera left to cool at camera right a lighting / gel effect or done in PP? Goes very well with the subject matter and makes the background transition fit into the overall shot.
