So I tried the Oil and glass with skittles thing. Turns out it's not as easy as you think but worth the effort and lighting.

Do you all agree this is abstract?

I know! I've been quiet and then two uploads in one night.

I GOT EXPLORED! Thank you everyone who checked out my photo! I reached #2! Never before have I got that high on explore or Fluidr! Amazing!

Oh my goodness, it's just gone to number #1 on Explore how is that possible? Thank you every one <3

I was thinking of doing this with clingfilm... but then realised we don't have any at my house and i'm too lazy to go buy some :P

Thanks Terry! I knew you'd know as you are the master of abstract. I'm entering it in a photo competition but I know the judge doesn't think laterally, so I'm hoping he sees this as abstract. Fingers crossed.
Thanks Al! Give it a go.
Thanks Chi, yeah I suppose I could have used cling film, it never crossed my mind so I went in hunt of a pane of glass and polished it to within an inch of it's life. Be sure to post yours when you do it then :)

Thanks Dave! Yeah, I ended up eating most of them! #Fatty!
You do indeed. I ended up using the cover glass of a certificate. Hahaha! I cheated with Mr Muscle window cleaner though ;o)
Thanks. Basically, put some skittles or m&m's in a glass bowl (pie dish) then put the glass on something higher than the bowl, (I used a washing basket) then shone the light from 12o'clock. Got a syringe and needle (am a vet nurse so this was all I had, I do not condone the use of sharps). A pipette would suffice. Put olive oil droplets all over the glass and voila. I experimented with different oils and water, but water doesn't refract enough for my liking so cooking oil was best. Thanks very much :o)

Thank you both. James, definitely go for it. This took me about an hour all in all to set it up and take a shot I was happy with but it was a learning curve. I would certainly do it again perhaps trying different things.

I tried this, failed and turned the skittles into vodka. You on the other hand had a lot more luck/skill.
