Serpentine 2011

Serpentine 2011

The fog was so crazy today I had to get up early and go shoot. I wanted to do this shot for some time now [1-2 years?]. I have seen some very talented photographers do this similar composition so this is my copy. Hopefully I didn't steal the title also.

With an enveloping caress 2011

With an enveloping caress 2011

Last week I took a quick trip to Yosemite. I realized I haven't been there for awhile and didn't want a whole year to go by without a visit. The first five hours there I dropped my wide angle lens. This was a very expensive mistake, not to mention, that now all I have to shoot with is a telephoto lens.
The very next day my tripod breaks!
Someone is trying to tell me something.
I find it very hard to hand hold a telephoto lens still. With all that I was able to rest the lens on a rock while shooting Bridalvail Falls. I managed to get very little usable photos from this trip, but if you ever been to Yosemite that doesn't seem to matter much.

Solitude 2011

Solitude 2011

Seems like I been posting more these days. I think this winter is going to be very wet and trying to get my fix in. I wanted to try something like this for some time, [the crop] I have seen it done before and liked the outcome. I just had to figure out what images would most benifit. Anyway this is from a shot I did some time ago, I posted one that I liked [square crop], but here is a different take on it.

Jellyfish 2011

Jellyfish 2011

Sometimes, when given the opportunity, I will revisit areas over and over again to photograph them in different situations. While pondering between long exposures, I have come to the conclusion there is no such thing as a perfect image. Something can always be improved upon, even if this means adding imperfection. On a side note, When I was a boy I was lucky to live close enough to a beach. This meant that during the summer months my parents would take me there to spend the day. Sometimes there would be great spawns of horseshoe crabs or jellyfish covering the sand. I would spend all day playing with the things that washed up upon the shore. Thinking back I would have been content in a dirty alleyway as long as there was some strange creature to poke with a stick. I guess those were different times.
