They could even map it out for one whole week, like so.

Much better. I used to work at IKEA (in returns). Might need a separate gauge to portray customer service/returns... as 'total anarchy' at all times.

hehe, "Anarchy!" Nice. I prefer the weird pie-clock thing though...

I love your version. If you want to throw it into our Flickr pool, I'd love that too! Consumerist.com

your is clearer. you could make it even cleaner by removing "closed" from the legend and just shortening the bars to when they're open. and you could flip mid and low volume so the order makes sense.

I dunno. An info graphic in this case is just unnecessary. Not only does it take up more space compared to equivalent text (good info graphics do the opposite), the graphic suggested here means that the viewer has to first understand the colours, then apply that to the bars, then apply that to where they are in time. Hard work!

I would go for the following, since there is no proper explanation that can be given about the difference between "low-volume", "mid-volume" and "total anarchy" - just avoid that completely and say:

If you want to avoid the crowds, the busiest times in our store are:

Weekdays: 20:00-21:00
Saturdays: 13:00-21:00
Sundays: 12:00-18:00

BTW there are several pools you might consider for this: my favourite is IA Discuss.
