Thanks a lot for your comments! I'm glad you appreciate this photo.

I'm a bit astonished... I wouldn't say it's so much better than other photographs I've taken -- but I guess that's where the popularity rating system kicks in, making the popular more popular, in a vicious/virtuous circle effect.

I post a lot of "crap snapshots" (as somebody say) but try to sort the photographs worth looking at in sets -- you might want to start with my favourites and look around a bit.

The contrast between light and dark and focus/out-of-focus is tremendous. The contrast between manmade and natural is wonderful, as is its interaction. This adds to the depth and to the gradeur of the scene.
