TV weather people love hurricanes more than anything else in the world. You can see how happy they are to be out in such dangerous weather ... they're like dogs chasing squirrels.
I gotta admit I love watching the hurricane coverage. I'd probably have a good time if I were a TV weather person.

i have a friend with a condo on perdido, that she lets us, her friends, stay at. today i asked, so why are all hurricanes aiming at your condo? she said, oh, that didn't start until your last visit. *****hmmmm.

Yeah, I think it's also funny how sad weather people get when a storm doesn't make landfall. It's like their team lost the pendant or something. A few years back, when Emily stalled off the coast from Elizabeth City, NC, I was up in that area doing some training. You have never seen such a bunch of depressed talking heads in your life:
"No, Carl, I don't think the storm has moved in the last hour or so. There is still a chance that she may make a move later on, however, so we'll keep you posted from here."

gotigersjf--bad weather does pay the bills for the weather channel! They love blizzards, too, but hurricanes are the most fun.
Thanks Tsmyther--I took one of one guy holding onto a pole so the wind wouldn't blow him down, but his camera lens was covered in droplets, so my photo was of just a really blurry guy.
On hurricanes--the funniest real hurricane name to me was Floyd (the 'cane itself wasn't funny at all here in NC--the flooding was deadly). I kept thinking of Floyd the barber on "The Andy Griffith Show."

These guys generally look like big kids playing in the rain. Especially Anderson on CNN. It looked like great fun. They kept saying that people should stay inside, but looking at the great fun they seemed to be having, I wanted to go out and play in a hurricane. Later in the year I might get the chance.
