Yet another taxonomic FAIL
Ugh. Here is a header from Tripadvisor that Bedbugger brought to my attention:
bedbugger.com/2009/02/26/note-to-tripadvisorcom-bed-bugs-... If these bugs are biting you, since they are PLANT FEEDERS, I'd say you have reason to complain all right. Sheesh. Not all "bugs" are the same. Looks like Striped Stink Bug (Graphosoma lineatum). Anyone want to confirm? Reproduction of this image is fair use via comment/criticism exemption in DMCA. Yes, complete fail. It is certainly in the family Pentatomidae, and does appear to be Graphosoma lineatusm. See:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphosoma_lineatum
Note that bed bugs are not only in a separate Family, but in a separate infraorders (family Cimicidae [bed bugs] is in the infraorder Cimicomorpha, family Pentatomidae [stink bugs], including the pictured species, is in the infraorder Pentatomomorpha).
