the big dummy is completeSurly Large Marge rims, Avic BB7 disk brakes, 2.3" tires. Looking down at these makes one believe they belong instead to a motorcycle. Single chainring. That's because the rear wheel has a Nuvinci CVT hub, allowing me to spin a dial on the handle bar to change drive ratios. Pretty cool. For the children Leah's helmet Backpack containing Macbook, snakes, dynamite, and throwing stars. Some tools. Becuase I built this bike, for the first few days things would fall off at random. Everything is torqued properly now. Universal cycles in Portland built this beast of a wheel. The Nuvinci hub is about 10lbs, keeping this end of the bike firmly planted on the road. Leah's seat. We'll get a cushion or something eventually. There are footrests down here, but Leah's legs don't reach, so she plants them under the stoker bars Where Leah puts her feet Brooks B17 saddle. Luscious, Hoping to put an electric motor here some day. I can make it up the hill to my house, but it nearly kills me. Some help might be nice. ![]() ![]() This is the Big Dummy. It's a kind of cargo bike, or longtail as some people call them. It took quite a while for all the parts to trickle in, and then build, but now it's complete. I'm quite pleased with it.
