Another book I won't enter in the current book swap. It is titled "Putzmittel" which is German and means cleaning agent.
The swap's theme is "something new" and we all agreed to use a material that is new to us and preferably is not usually used in bookbinding. I decided here to use a cleaning glove as cover decoration instead of chicken feet leather, glove leather and all these leather - hand - materials that are often used in bookbinding.
It is a photo album, and filled with photos that I took in supermarkets showing divers cleaning agents.
I wanted several chapters, titles:
1. Why is it that enviroment friendly products look so dull?
2. There are products for cleaning your nose!! (Focus on variety)
3. There are so many different universal cleaning agents.
Something like that. But the book didn't get finished. I took too few photos, more are on their way, but not in time. And I am not completely satisfied with how the glove is cut and does not really stick to the cover at the edges.
To make this work is on my to-do-list, but I won't enter it in the swap.
Apart from it not being ready and a bit too big for such a swap and being sent across the ocean, I think it is still too traditional. Again the new material is not really used, but only serves for decoration.
I'll post pictures of the book that I did send off, once the recipient has notified me of its arrival - I don't want to spoil the surprise.
