looking up on woodward

I left the Exposure Detroit opening at the Woddbridge and decided, as I often do, to take another route home. It has been years since I shot in the city at night and with that in mind I set on down Woodward Avenue. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of activity along Woodward on a cold, cold Michigan night. With no big events in the city, there still existed a spark of street life. Maybe we have been skipping along the economic bottom and things are begining to look up in parts of the city. It sure seems that way and I don't think this is my inner optimist getting the best of me. At my age I think of myself as a realistic optimist. Hopeful but jaded.
