Ice on the Elbow

Ice on the Elbow

I couldn't spend a weekend with Darwin Wiggett and Samantha Chrysanthou - two of Canada's best known and loved nature photographers - without convincing them to take me out for a little landscape love.

Elbow Falls, Kananaskis, Alberta. ISO 50, F/11, 6-second exposure.

Alberta Breeze

Alberta Breeze

My only desired characteristic for my talent for this weekend's southern Alberta workshop was "unique", and unique we got. Meet Talyn Stone, who was more than we could have hope for.

Photographed on a back country road outside Airdrie, Alberta.

Simple one-light set-up. Elinchrom Octobox to model right. Ambient under-exposed by about 2/3 a stop.

Dance of the Firefly

Dance of the Firefly

Exploring dance and form; a composite of two images inspired by Joe McNally. I'm guessing this one won't look great on Flickr (needs to be seen bigger), so please check it out on my website at: www.davebrosha.com/#a=0&at=0&mi=2&pt=1&pi...

Lighting: mix of gelled hotlights (overhead, turned on for the first 5 seconds of exposure) and studio flash (modified with a Paul C. Buff PLM umbrella, triggered manually by Pocket Wizards in the last second) . ISO 200, F/11, 6-second exposure.
