    This perspective shows how large the "cars" really are. This is some unbelievably intricate engineering. The bicycle-type spokes would keep the weight of the wheel manageable.

    Interesting comment, Michael Jon - Goodyear was a world traveler and he took all these photographs so he could share them back home (here, at the Brooklyn Museum) with all his colleagues. Often, when I look at these, I sort of feel the same way you do. -shelley
