This whole set is really great; I wanted to leave a comment on almost every image but I think that putting a 'wow' under 100 images is a tad ridiculous so I'm keeping it to this one.

It's awesome enough visiting these sites today - I cant even imagine what a sight like this would've felt like a hundred years ago.

    Just wow.

Thanks for your comments on both flicks! It really is amazing how different these places look now. I was with one of our Egyptian curators reviewing some of these images the other day and he was talking about what had been excavated, how walls had been reconstructed in some areas, etc. Pretty fascinating. -shelley, manager of information systems, brooklyn museum

All these images have the WOW factor I visted Egypt a couple of years ago and it blew me away at the pyramids to have seen it like this would have been amazing

Hello, we would absolutely love any shots of archaeology in action for our group. Unfortunately this is not a field shot, so I must remove it from the group.

Thanks for the clarification Miss_Colleen - I'll be more careful next time :) -sb

    Interesting.

The pyramids must have been really something to see before their casing stones were removed by Cairo city builders.

In the background is the Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), also known as the Great Pyramid.

This is the most serene photo I have seen of the pyramid. It shows feeling, i.e. lonlieness, naturalness, fear, a big void. To me it shows a feeling that we all have at times. It also shows a feeling of being in a meditative mood. I really like this photo.
