emergence and disturbances

I shot this with the help of my friend KD who I needed to stand in place for focus and then I needed help with triggering the camera too after my remote took a little swim. This shoot was a little bit scary because of getting in some dark water with things swimming around. The pool of water wasn't very big so the things that were swimming in it didn't have anywhere to move to when I jumped in.

This photo feels "right" to me at the moment, like I created what my heart told me to create. I am going back to do a follow up series of images for a blog post and I'll also be putting together a behind the scenes video about creating these images (execution, thought process, etc...).

You're so brave! I don't think I could jump into a pool o water with things swimming around. But the result was definitely worth it! :)

wonderful work... great mood.. the way (the form) you are lying in the water reminds to a huge 'introverted' whelk lying on the beach in the border area of the water and the sand..

have you dyed your hair or is it all in the editing? I feel like you are laying yourself bare in these last 2 images.. are you going through a metamorphosis? You do not need to answer any of these questions, it is mere conjecture ;) This image provoked memories of birds in enviromental oil spills.. it urges a need in me to cleanse the subject and set them free <3

I absolutely love this picture. It's so simple, but there's so much mystery. The contorted position makes you wonder what's going on, and the symmetry of the reflection adds an ethereal beauty which really seems to sum up your motto of making a disturbing image aesthetically beautiful. One of my favorites. :)

Your perspective of things is so unique. I love how the pale, skins seems luminescent is the otherwise dark, mysterious water. Perfection, really.
