the leaves of linden avenue

Newer Older

I decided to give this picture a personal title - It was shot in my hometown of Lancaster PA on a trip in August last year, and I felt very connected to it - the Amish farm in the background, the way nature was wrapping all around the image...so the title contains the name of the street I grew up on in my hometown. I always thought it had such a nice ring to it, so I'm happy I could incorporate such a solid memory of childhood into this image.

I wrote a blog post about the process it took to create this, since it was many months and countless hours of questioning before I released it today. It was about 50 scanned leaves into my computer, cut out, duplicated and changed into hundreds, then formed into a dress.

This picture was inspired by the magical Maggie Taylor.

Brooke, Thank you so much for for going out of your way to get this print to Kristen in time for my anniversary. It is beautiful and will have a nice home next to "The dangers of being alone".

Here I love the light of th sky and you. You are the last day of autumn, the day when all the leaves cry.

I see a lot of work here. Thank you for your effort.
