Yesterday as I shot this the wind blew like it was training for competition. The fabric I was trying to fling about was so thin that instantly when I would throw it in the air it would crumple to a ball, usually on Sonalii's head. I only had a few usable shots despite trying very hard to manipulate that fabric every which way. My original idea was that of a snake...dominance, power, weakness...a force taking over her body. But the fabric just wouldn't fly right, so when I got home and started piecing it together I realized it was a flower...blooming, coming to life....just as beautiful to me and still very much in line with my series. In fact, I had a picture sketched out with the same theme, though it didn't look like this. Happy accident :)
Of course when I showed my husband and said "Doesn't this look so much like a flower?!" his response was "Uh...more like a pinwheel"....And there it is.
