Since most everyone who might look at this is a photographer, I have to ask - when using locations for shoots, do you ever worry about over using it? Same goes with props, costumes, etc...Sometimes I go to my favorite locations, or pick up my favorite props and costumes to use for the umpteenth time and think "Is this getting old?" - there is a fine line between keeping up with a style and going overboard and having certain aspects become overkill. I wondered that about this location and then said to heck with it, who cares!? It is my favorite place to shoot, and if it is still interesting to me then it must be interesting to someone else, too.

Not that any of this matters in the grand scheme of things. At all. I caught myself thinking yesterday about what others might want to see instead of what I want to see...what a horrible little trap to fall into. Think only of yourself when it comes to your art. That is one of the times when it is okay to be selfish, because what is art for, first and foremost, if not to enrich our lives personally?

So glad to have found your work, and particularly this piece, along with what you wrote--I've been starting to worry about the very same things, and I'm finding myself wanting to please others with my work. You're right in that it's okay to be selfish with your art, and I intend to be more so with mine! I hope you come up to Washington soon--would LOVE to do a workshop with you!

Yet I would never have thought that some of your photos are in the same places till you mentioned it.
