I honestly can't believe this day has come. As I type this, I have very strong emotions of elation, satisfaction, mixed with a little sadness.
Last year when I announced I was going to take on a 365, I honestly had NO idea what was ahead of me. Had I known, really known--I probably would have backed down. Once the word started to spread amongst my family, friends, and peers about my project, my determination to finish on my terms grew stronger and stronger.
I'd like to thank EVERYBODY that has supported me throughout the year!! It was your words of encouragement that kept me going--especially on days when I just felt like doing nothing at all. There were many ups and downs along this journey and I always felt the support of you all!
What did I learn from this adventure. First, I learned how to utilize my camera--properly! I taught myself, with help from many, to shoot in "Manual". The daily self portraits taught me to find something positive in myself, no matter how down I may have felt that day.
Something I never imagined that I'd gain from my project was the ability to recall exactly what I did each and every day! This project forced me to get out and see my city, more in depth and personal. I especially loved how some of my best shots were the most simiplistic and last minute shots.
My final shot was taken at the Castillo de San Marco. It is one of my favorite locations/national landmarks here in St Augustine. When shooting around the castillo, I feel like it's mine and I'm home--minus the several hundred tourists that always seem to get in shots ;-) Since there were 365 shots to choose from, I did narrow down my top 12 favorite shots by months.
Thanks again!
ps: For the entire year visit
