St Pauls BS2 |
During the days of the Bristol slave
trade, St Pauls was the location of
choice for the wealthy slave trading
merchants. This is reflected in the now
neglected, but once beautiful Georgian
architecture.
Its turbulent history has been marked
by rapid growth. The area was damaged
during World War II followed with a high
degree of immigration shortly
afterwards. Neglect, crime and drugs
became common in the area and persist
today.
