Historic relics of a bygone age

Historic relics of a bygone age by brizzle born and bred.
Remembered in the playground of Rose Green High School for Girls Whitehall Bristol. George Whitfield went out to a small Hamlet called Rose Green (now in Clay Pitt near Rose Green Lane) and took up his position on a grassy mound where he began his sermon.

At first a few inquisitive people stopped to listen, then more arrived, and, as he spoke, tears seemed to well up in their eyes, for here they thought was a man who preached "hope" and there had been very little of that in their lives.
