Sydney Harbour Bridge#1

Sydney recently celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Harbour bridge opening. This was taken on that day when the bridge was lit up with special lighting. Such was the forward vision of it's designer Bradley that it is still today the widest single arch bridge in the world and carries many tens of thousand cars and vehicles each day, including trains.

Great perspective, light, exposure. That left foreground tree bothers me a bit. I don't know if the image would benefit from the extra negative space

That's a cracking shot Robert! Great colour, tones, composition, good all round image well captured.

      Nice job

@HD. I thought about the negative space thing on this, It is a device which I use hopefully to great benefit on occasion. Respectfully though, I agree with Bleu Angel that the "natural element"(the tree) adds to the pictorial narrative, at the expense of the compositional elements that you allude to.

Brilliant shot Robert - superb perspective - ain't wide-angle grand! And the exposure is perfect. Love the way you've framed the bridge in this shot - and of course the colour - stunning image and an excellent homage to ye olde coathanger.
Thank you for your eloquent and generous comment on my latest post btw.

      Truly stunning Rob !

Your super composition has made the bridge appear to leap across from the opposite shoreline, love the tree on the left anchoring the viewers side.
Of course as already eluded to... the lighting really sets this off.....a spectacular image, well done !

Brilliant photo of a magnificent bridge! I visited Sydney in 2000 and got to admire the Syndey Harbour Bridge firsthand... I've posted a copy of this photo on flooringtheconsumer.blogspot.com to anchor a post about bridging old and new media.

Fantastic pic compositionally as well as in the execution of aperture, etc. however, cloning out the big tree on the left would clean up the frame alot more as now the tree is really protruding on the essence and beauty of the bridge. Other than that, nice capture.
