I'm amazed this strange looking building has lasted as long as it has, but I think it is coming down now...

I catch the bus to school right next to there. I will miss the ugly ugly walls that block the snow in wintertime when this is finally taken down.

My wife and I owned Video World from 2001 until it closed in 2007...we lost our life savings with that store but are forever grateful for the customers (and great staff!) we had and supported us. Yes, we were facing new competition from NetFlix, but we held our own against both Rogers and Blockbuster (nearby). Finally, the City, who owns the building, told all their tenants they had to leave with very little notice. We had 4000 sq ft in the basement. Not sure what happened to Sunset Billiards upstairs, but they had to leave too. It was impossible to find any similar rent anywhere nearby where we could keep our customer base. We prided ourselves on having lots of the cult faves people found hard to find, and we loved special orders. We also enjoyed celebrities like Scott Bakula and Tom Selleck as customers over the years.

      Video World...just slightly underground!
