I visited this area many times over the last 20 years to photograph this very scene, usually in the dark after twilight. I was there two nights ago and I couldn’t resist shooting it again as the sun set. This is taken at “Ladies Lookout” atop Signal Hill, St John’s Newfoundland Canada. “Ladies Lookout” is so named because from this very point women would for generations gather to look for signs of their men returning from the fishing grounds, the Grand Banks of Newfoundland. You can only imagine when Mother Nature unleashed the mighty North Atlantic the humility these people must have felt!
