Cherry Drop

Splash pic 04 - One cherry, one bowl of cream. Here the cherry is on the way UP, having bounced on the surface of the cream.

Camera triggered by a DIY optical gate 30cm above the pool (made from a HiViz trigger kit). Two off-camera flash units, one high camera left, one at 1/32 power close by to the right of the bowl. Methods and equipment used outlined in more detail in this blog.

Reelly cool! Love the use of the cream; it adds such a different effect than water and such a nice contrast to the cherry. Great lightening too!

Not to be repetitive, but did you use a macro lens?

    34. bda668 (21 months ago | reply)

@ukrainesky: Not a macro, I used my 17-85mm at 85mm, with the camera something over a metre away.
