Amstel Fractal

Amstel Fractal

Such a quiet and calm night on the Amstel tonight. I was captivated by the smoothness of the river, which came out even smoother when exposed at 30". Found a few chromatic artifacts, but overall I found the shot pleasing and fun.

River of flowers

River of flowers

This mild winter has really been a blessing. Right now, along the Amstel runs some smaller parallel rivers of yellow flowers. I love how the yellow flowers really stand out in contrast against the green grass and the gray skies.

Decay #1

Decay #1

Some of the textures along the Amstel offer some interesting results of decay. I am fascinated by decay, and am going to start posting more of these as a study in decay.

Brave hond

Brave hond

My dog Giza was recently attacked by a white pit-bull, and subsequently has become quite afraid of white - or mostly white dogs. I have been trying to slowly build back up her confidence around other dogs.

A Quiet Moment

A Quiet Moment

Just me, Tempe and the sun.

The one good thing about jet lag; I find it much easier to be ready for sunrise. This was the morning of day two in Tempe during my trip home for the holidays. I had to sprint up part of the way to be sure to catch some pre-dawn colors, so I was winded and not really ready. I had my Canon 7D on a tripod and my spare 1000D in the pack, so after setting up I caught a couple shots of myself for fun.
