sunset and rainbow

I went for a walk in the rain on the beach and was nearly alone. A sharp-edged ceiling of cloud was rolling back from the west, exposing a greenish sky. Then the sun edged up to the end of the cloud and burst through.

This is most intense rainbow I've ever seen. I could clearly see the darker indigo line in between the blue and violet.

The sunset was taken a few minutes after the rainbow faded. It was a weird, upside-down sunset -- the clouds above were burning red, but the sky beyond was brilliant blue.

Moral: take your daily walk even if it is raining.
