Disneyland [Explore]

Disneyland [Explore]

I'm not really sure what it is about this image, but it is one of my all time favorites. For a while now when entering the Magic Kingdom, and then Disneyland, I've had this idea for a shot that isolates the train station and makes it look a bit more substantial than it is in person.

The only problem is, we always pass by this view very quickly on our way in to the park and this area is always so crowded. I've made attempts as we walked by without taking much time, and this was no exception, but I got "lucky" this time a hit a handheld bracket that I was very excited about (that sky certainly helped!). What you don't see is the tuba being played by a member of the Disneyland band just out the frame, camera left...

Disneyland really is a very special place. While I love the Magic Kingdom, Disneyland has a certain feel that has yet to be replicated in any other Disney Park I have visited. That being said, I have yet to meet a Disney Park I didn't like, but I guess there will never be anything quite like the original!

On a side note, I'm headed west to go explore old Route 66 today. I'll catch up with everyone next week!

One of the nice side benefits of setting up for Wishes early is experiencing a beautiful sunset at the Hub while enjoying a hot dog from Casey's Corner... C'mon, who's with me?

This is one of those pictures that you feel compelled to make to experience that moment at least one more time.

Leave it to Disney to theme a gift shop like some old boardwalk sideshows!

There really is something about the feel of Paradise Pier that is very magical. Perhaps it's the fact that I didn't grow up or live near the ocean to ever experience an authentic boardwalk, but I love spending time in this area. While the attractions in this area, with the exception of Midway Mania and California Screamin', aren't my favorite, they are very picturesque and add to the overall ambience of the place.

Paradise Pier is an area that is not to be missed during sunset. This shot was taken when the sun was low in the shy, but unfortunately there weren't many clouds to add some drama to the sky. That being said, however, I like how the warm light gave this one an almost vintage feel straight out of the camera.

Tips for Shooting Lights, Motors, Action!

Tips for Shooting Lights, Motors, Action!

In the comments from my post on Friday, I was asked by one of my contacts, bowenbee, to share some tips for shooting this show. Since I really enjoy motorsports photography, I love this show and like to apply some of those techniques when shooting here. Feeling inspired to write something more in depth, I wrote a full article on the subject.

Make sure to head over to the Disney Photography Blog to read the tips I shared about shooting this show!
