Damn, Brent, I kept trying for this feel all last week in Boise. Now I think I have an idea of what I should have done.... Nice shot.

@griff - Cool. And thank you. I was shooting everything that day since I was between hospital visits and didn't want to go home. I didn't intend for this to be an HDR bit when I saw it on the computer I thought I'd give it a whirl. It's only the second one I've done with this technique. Here's the first.

Kirsten and I are planning a move to Maine when she's well. It's probably a good idea to take a few nostalgia shots of Wichita before we're gone for good ;)

Portland. We've never been there but we've done a bunch of research and seen many Flickr pictures.

Beautifully done! I haven't tried any hdr yet -- any good recommendations for how to start? And -- welcome to Maine (when you get here....) :-)

@bob - I'm glad you like it. Flickr introduced me to the acronym. For the HDR from a single RAW image I change only the exposure setting to make one under, middle, and over-exposed. Then I use Photoshop's "merge to HDR" utility. If you want more detailed tips send me an email.

Matt (the poster above you) does some great HDR stuff.

:-) They look so young though! I photographed the apartment building on Water & Main over the course of a few weeks while they tore them down. It was a wonderful learning experience. Great to see the deconstruction of an entire building.

Today Skye and I walked into a small store in the mall selling Kansas stuff and found my picture on several items: mousepads (pictured), mugs, magnets, and post cards. How cool is that?! Many months ago I sold to the owner of the store the non-exclusive rights to use the picture.
