North Narrabeen Rock Pool Before Dawn

Best viewed Large On Black

Went out to Nth Narrabeen for the first time this morning. The challenge with shooting this pool is that so many others have done a great job of shooting it before, it's hard to get something unique.... Thought I'd feature the sky with a super long exposure (about 3 min I think). The colours are pretty intense on this image... I haven't saturated them at all, not sure whether I should be toning them down.... kind of seems like a shame though to desaturate a RAW capture... usually I'm adding some saturation.

What do others think.... to intense colour or OK?

If anybody is interested in how I processed this image, I described it in My Blog entry today

I think the brightness of the water which is lit by the artificial light is great, giving the turquoise hues there. You've also captured some excellent cloud motion/swirls which do set the image apart from the others. Personally, I would destaurate the sky a bit, but colour preferences are purely personal.

I wouldn't even consider desaturating it. This is what the camera saw on a 3minute exposure and so this is what our eye might see if we didn't have to blink. Well that's the way I look at it anyway. I think it's fantastic....the cloud movement, the water stillness, the colouring.
I don't fave many but this one is a definite.
