This is my mom's kindle, we gave it to her yesterday for her birthday, and I absolutely want one. They are completely fantastic.

GTWL: One possession to take to a desert island.

I would absolutely take a kindle. Loads of books and portable and cute. Of course, this is assuming it has unlimited battery power :P

Holy cow, I saw one of these advertised a couple months ago and fell in love with it, I don't know anyone who has one though, totally jealous I don't have one for my deserted island lol

I am still in doubt, not about the gadget, but about the books on offer for it. The Jason Bourne trilogy... 1400 pages was starting to get heavy after about an hour! this would solve the problem :)

The batteries do last a while and I would love one of these. My only problem is that a new e-book reader comes out every couple of years and they are not cheap. If I could pay a few hundred bucks for one of these and get a bunch of free book downloads I would be game.
