March 1977 I’m driving a yellow Ford Van from LA back to NJ. I’m on Rt 40 Albuquerque, NM I picked up two hitchhikers their names are Bob and Marla. They tell me that they are comming from Albuquerque during the ride they talk me into driving them off of rt 40 down 5 miles of dirt roads. We get to the place there is more people staying there most of them look like hippies so I think this is some kind of commune all a bunch of nice people I hang out for a while. I just figured this out a few months ago when I came by the Microsoft family picture and read the article they were the original Microsoft family.

I sent a letter to Bob O'Rear he is a great guy just for responding back to me via email. Well it was not him and Marla I dont remember if maybe Steve told me his name was Bob in anycase I remember Marla and the faces of Paul Allen, Bob Wallace, Jim Lane, Bob Greenberg, Marc McDonald. I also remember talking about computers as my Dad worked as a data processor at the time so I do know it was the Microsoft founders up to Steve Wood. I sent a letter to Steve and Marla and never got a response 1977 is along time ago I just wish Steve and Marla would step up and answer my letter. I remember they wanted me to pay 25 cents for a solar shower (that Bill made most likely a container of H2O set in the sun I never even saw it) I did not I think I ended up giving them about 75 cents Steve (the one I picked up hitching with marla) wanted $ I gave him a $5 but Im pretty sure I took it back before I left. They offered me to stay and I remember someone saying as long as his name is not Bob.
