Hello,
I am Nikhil. I'm a volunteer editor on Wikipedia. We were wondering if we could use this image on Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia. You would be given credit of course and a link to this site would be placed.
You would have to change the license of this image to Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike. Unfortunately, Wikipedia does not accept non-commercial licenses. You can change the license by clicking "edit" next to All Rights Reserved and then clicking Attribution-ShareAlike Creative Commons.
Many other flickr users have had their works published in blogs, newspapers, and magazines this way. I can provide you some examples if you'd like.
We hope you will help us improve Wikipedia since millions of people use it everyday. Your help will improve articles on the site. Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks so much.
Nikhil

I am but a meager traveller through L.A. Is the tower always this color at night? This is beautiful!

Thanks, "INTERNATIONAL REALTOR", vikild, mariannakoutna and Graham StJohn Smith. :-)
scleroplex: Thanks. :-) The last I looked, a couple of weeks ago, the building was still covered in scaffolding! ;-) I wonder what all is going on...
susanrudat: Thanks. :-) As I recall – and when it's not under construction, at least – the building is bathed in alternating colors of light on a cycle. I happened to catch it during a blue phase, but a couple of minutes later it would have been red or something.

I've wondered about trying to shoot some HDR shots of the old tower at night, but am worried that in the post 9/11 world the sight of someone shooting pics at LAX with a tripod might freak out security -- Did you have any issues with the Airport PD or LAX security while shooting this?
scleroplex 30 months ago | reply
it's a public building on public land
go take a photo
monkeytime | brachiator 30 months ago | reply
@ angstOne, no, I didn't have any trouble. I took this several years ago, however, so my experience may not be worth much as a guide. That said, I didn't so much as see a police car roll through the parking structure when I was shooting this.
