flooded Newbury train station

It took me 6 hours by bus to get out from Newbury to Reading because of flooded train station, heavy traffic and road damages caused by water... just 17 miles, you know..

Fascinating record of the disaster but I hope the water is draining away finally.
We have certainly had more than enough of the wet stuff this summer (I use the term disparagingly!)

Good shot, and as Sallylondon points, good record too.

Stunning. 2 weeks later all gone, just some poor soles having to clear up. Although Gloucester made the news the floods wern't so spectacular as the results of the torrential rain on the 20th July.

Back in the days of steam, the trains would have kept on going despite the floods, but nowadays because of the "Elf 'n' Safety" brigade it wouldn't be allowed.
