Endangered Species Piping Plover (Adult Female)

This is the mother of the Piping Plover chick that I previously posted (see pic below). Her chick kept moving so fast that she (and I) had a hard time keeping up with him. I had hoped to get a shot of both the adult and chick together but my rule is one hour and I'm gone. I do this as not to place too much stress on the birds. The Piping Plovers are on the United States Endangered Species List and may become extinct. I pray they survive.

Oh yes, more power in groups! I will pray for this charming species also...such a pity! Nature does not always balance our wildlife well at all...

Stunning shot! Perfect DOF and placement of the pebbles!

I am down in Cape May and made my way out to the meadows where I have captured them before. Unfortunately, when I got there tonight I found out it is closed til next year. I will try Stone Harbor tomorrow night.

Fantastic shot - I hope you're wrong about the extinction, but unfortunately the odds are against them. At least these shots will help increase awareness. Beautifully done.

So beautiful, awesome photo. I hope these birds can thrive once again someday. I couldn't even finish reading about the chick, it was too sad to think about.
