West End
The Boston Pictorial Archive holds photographs and prints documenting Boston's West End neighborhood in the 19th and 20th centuries, with the bulk of the material ranging from 1850 to 1930. Images include historic buildings, residences, and street scenes. Most of these buildings were erected prior to the 1950s urban renewal project that razed a large section of the neighborhood.

If you would like to see how the West End neighborhood has changed, check out this Map of Boston published by the Metropolis Map Co. in 1890 from the Norman B. Leventhal Map Center at the Boston Public Library.
