The beach in winter

Taken on our walk on the beach on Saturday, it was cold and damp but invigorating.
I originally had it more warmly toned but thought the blue reflected the winter chill.

When I was a kid and went swimming here I never took any notice of these piles, and it certainly never occurred to me that they might be beautiful.

This is a good illustration of what good photography is: bringing something beautiful out of what is just there.
