this was taken from the farthest corner of the canadian side that you ould still see the falls; if you stood here you'd get soaked in under a minute from the mist of the plume spraying up and hitting you. i loved standing in this spot, but i only kept my camera out for a very limited amount of time here so it wouldn't also get soaked.

to the bottom. i'm certainly not brave enough to risk it.

apparently there've been a ton of people who have tried to make it over the edge - not many have lived. there's a whole niagara falls museum that we went to that shows pictures of people who have made it over, pictures of those who died trying, and some of the different vehicles people went over the falls in. it was an interesting museum.

it was fun watching the maid of the mist ships disappear into the cloud of mist and then return a minute later... it was almost more entertaining than actually being on the ship itself. i remember the first time we went to niagara falls and we did the maid of the mist tour - we got drenched! lucky for us it had been very hot and the water felt nice.

as cloudy and overcast as it was, the strange weather provided some pretty good photography opportunities... i'm just glad it didn't rain that much.

it's a very wet place, niagara falls. go figure, right?
