I'm so glad you've posted close-up pictures of these so I can pick your brain about stitches I'm not familiar with ;-). Are the goldish-brown stitches in the very center bullion knots? What stitch did you use for the very out blue (variegated blue?) floss? It reminds me of braiding.

*very outer blue (not very *out* blue)

Hi, Glenda! No, the center is a 'laced spider's web'...I havent got a pic for how to do that, though I am sure sharonb's TAST index has it.
The petals are done in 'ring picot' and lucky for you I took pics of how to do this, I thought they'd come in handy:
You make these plain loops all around...
and then you work a buttonhole bar (a.k.a. blanket stitch) over each loop, packing them down to fill up the loop.
Hope this helps.

Ohhhh, thanks for the helpful pics! One of my goals this coming year is to try some of the TAST stitches from the past couple years. Not sure if I'll make a band sampler or not, but I definitely want to use more stitches than my old stand-bys ;-). These felt goodies you've been making are definitely a good way to try lots of stitches on a small scale!!

Yes, I had the same idea, to use the felt roundels for TAST and see if I could learn some new stitches...I have just today visited the pintangle blog (looking for the rosette chain to show you...I found it in conjunction with the oyster stitch, but no instructions, so I may have to shoot some pics to show you when next I do one.
