fotologica, your comment (as it very often does) made
me laugh... :) i guess there is a similarity to those
bricklike early mobile phones, but how fast
we forget what actual nonmobile phones look
like...
Reminds me of a shot from The Matrix. The
phone-booth as Trinity takes the call and
begins to disapear from the Matrix, the agent
fires his gun and the bullet slices the line
in two. I imagine it falling to the ground
and looking something like this, shattered
glass and debri around. The green of the
Matrix ebbing in the background.
Seeing this image and figuring out its title,
immediately made me think of that old Public
Enemy song, "911 is a Joke". Kind of funny...well, maybe just to me.
[Phone rings..Clink of receiver being lifted] "Hello..?" "Yes, a collect call for Mrs. Floyd from
Mr. Floyd. Will you accept the charges from United
States?" [clunk! of phone being put down] "Oh, He hung up! That's your residence,
right? I wonder why he hung up? Is there supposed to be someone else there
besides your wife there to answer?" [Phone rings again...clunk of receiver being
picked up] "Hello?" "This is United States calling, are we
reaching... [interrupted by phone being put down] "See he keeps hanging up, and it's a man
answering." [whirr of connection being closed]
i saw that photo one time and went on with
clicking, but never forgot that. was so sad i
could not find when i looked for. after some
hours and days i found it now. this photo is
great! it's one of my favourites because it
shows that abandonement always means the
disconnection from the rest of the running
world, here the cutted cord. thank you
Claudine!

This pic popped out of a set of 110 thumbnails. No mean feat. You should add this to the Simple Life of Everyday Objects group --it'd pop there too.
