Most duck shots are boring. This one is boring, too, but in a peaceful sort of way. It's just languidly floating long in calm waters.

Why a duck? It's a typical duck in the water professional looking boring picture. I agree with jiwasz - it is boring. I don't mind not seeing it again.

At first I thought, well this is a picture of a duck. blah.
But the shot is very strong, I like the colors, the fact that the duck is in silhouette and the smoothness of the water.

I have rather a pet peeve against almost silhouettes. Makes me feel like one should commit one way or the other, ya know? When it is an almost silhouette, I really want to see more detail. Like the rim light on his back, but the hint of white body just makes me squint at the thing trying to seeeeeeee. I would have pulled back a bit to include more of the trail in the water and place the duck maybe exiting the frame bottom right.

Good advice Awfulsara: as with us all I tried several approaches, including some you suggested, and found this the most appealing. I do appreciate what you have to say as your comments are always substantive. No I'm not being sarcastic. Kalense Kid's comments however lack thought and imagination - delete him.

Actually, I don't think my photo had much to do with your inabillities. From what I've seen, this has always been an issue for you, sans my contributions. I'm glad my photo made you realize this, though, at least it did served a purpose in the world.
