This appeals for three reasons.

1) Old photos are ace, and always are.
2) People call me Shed, and here's a shed.
3) My surname is Anderson, and here's my shelter.

Huzzah!

Ah, I tell you what, it was the best shed I have ever been in. Primarily because you had to step *down* into it (being a shelter it was partially buried). As a nipper of 6 or 7, that completely blew my mind; it was like walking into a house and finding the stairs on the ceiling; it was *mind expanding*.

I'm pretty sure the floor was just compacted soil, but I'll have to check that. The bench ran the entire length of one wall, and all of the shelves had jars full of nails screwed to the underside (via the lids). Perfect. I vividly remember standing just inside the entrance, inhaling the heady smell of oil, watching my Grandad, clad in Arkwright stylee brown overalls, mucking about with something on the bench. Bliss.

Wezz - it was DARK GREEN. Almost Racing Green, in fact. Let us salute it.

Btw, I've no idea what that metal framework thingy is all about, I'll have to ask me dear old ma (that's her in the pic, collapsing in giggles on the grass).
